De Luze was founded in 1822 by Alfred De Luze, who purchased the "Domaine de Chaigne" located in the privileged region of Grande Champagne in his pursuit to produce cognac of magnificent quality.
The Boinaud Family is one of the oldest wine growing and distilling families of Cognac, historical records dates the family back to 1640. In 1940 Michel Boinaud's dedication and love for cognac opened a new chapter for the family. Passion, expertise and «savoir-faire» has been passed from generation to generation.
The vineyards are located right in the heart of Grande Champagne growing area; with 420 hectares is the largest vineyard of the Cognac Appellation. Only the finest Ugni- Blanc grapes are harvested once they have reached their absolute maturity; then the unfiltered wines are double distilled in small Charentais pot stills in order to obtain richer and smoother cognacs. The barrels are produced in their own cooperage using French Limousine oak, each one is toasted using a special technique; the bottling is carried out in the Estate in order to preserve the delicacy of the cognacs. | | | Artikelinfo:
