Chichibu Distillery - Japan
Founded by Ichiro Akuto - grandson of the originator of the Hanyu Distillery, which has been closed for a few years. Chichibu became operational in 2008 and it is the first and smallest Japanese single malt distillery since the Hakushu. The distillery is known for producing fruity and well-balanced whiskey and for housing the last stocks of Karuizawa, Kawasaki and Hanyu, and has its own bottling facility. |
